SEAN KENNEDY READY FOR NEXT LEVEL OF RACING, ACT LATE MODEL
The evolution of anything is quite unique and interesting to watch, and that is no different in sports and in particular Motorsports, watching drivers evolve and climb through the classes is without question very fun to follow. And one of those drivers that have pretty much followed what many would call a text book pattern in the evolution up the levels of racing is Sean Kennedy.

Sean who many of you at the track have watched in the Legend class for the last few years, in fact you watch him finish his tenure in the class with a championship run in 2006, a great way to end his career in the Legend class. With the end of that level of his racing career Sean will make the ultimate commitment and move to the ACT Late Model class for the 2007 season, the premier level of racing stock cars in this country.

Sean Kennedy Motorsports will head into the 2007 season with a brand new Monte Carlo, ACT Late Model with all of the latest equipment, and as good a crew as there is out there, including fellow Legend driver Dave Hodgins, good friend Doug Robar, Curtis Lytle, and Randi Lee Bell.

Now let's get one thing straight Kennedy didn't just get to this level over night, as over the past 15 years he has paid his dues just like any other successful driver has done. In the beginning, like so many drivers he started out as a crew member, in fact a crew member on Ryan's Auto Centre Pro Stock car that Ricky Rump (current track late model champ) took to the track championship that year. After the death of good friend and car owner Ryan Nash, Kennedy decided it was time to move on and that move also included moving into his own shop and taking over the crew chief duties on Dave Riopelle's Street Stock car where here too they won the track championship. This was followed by a stint in an IMCA Modified where here also, a championship was attainted, followed by a rookie of the year in Go-Carts. But then it was back to the stock car world and some time as a crew member on the John Holtom owned Al Long driven Cascar Sportsman car and 2 super series cars, but the desire to drive was only made greater by this association. So up to the present time and the Legend period of Sean Kennedy's evolution through the stock car world, and now the biggest step of all, his endeavor into the highly competitive Late Model class. That effort will be supported this season in a major way by Waste Management as well as associated advertisers Prime Road Machinery, Signs.ca, Mic Mac Realty and Chevy West. So what will 2007 bring well if the past is any indicator look for Kennedy to be a player right out the box in his Rookie season in Late Model.

For Capital City Speedway a track that only two years ago did not even have a late model class, this news is obviously very good and shows the dedication and belief in the future of the track, and its classes. Keep in mind that Sean will also be announcing his own web site in the near future. They will debut the car at the Kick off Party on April 21 at Broadway Bar & Grill in Stittsville, and as the pictures show it is one great looking car.
Good Luck to Sean Kennedy Motorsports in 2007.
